BRUCE L. GISI

Bruce is a trial lawyer at Rock Hutchinson, PLLP. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation in a broad array of areas, including contracts, commercial torts, intellectual property, securitized assets, and FINRA arbitrations. He has successfully represented a wide range of clients, from numerous Fortune 500 companies to small business owners and individuals.

Bruce’s opportunities have provided him extensive experience handling all types of litigation. He has tried multiple jury trials and has arbitrated matters before various arbitration regimes such as the AAA and FINRA. In addition to zealously advocating for his clients, Bruce has also assisted clients in conducting internal investigations regarding securitized assets, mortgage loan servicing, and mortgage modification programs (e.g. HAMP).

Bruce is also active in the civic community. He currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Minneapolis College Preparatory School and as a member on the Board of Directors for the Twin Cities Alumni Club for Phi Delta Theta.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE:

  • Won seven-figure summary judgment for lenders claiming breaches of multiple promissory notes. Summary judgment involved defeating allegations of breaches of good faith and fair dealing, setoff, and frustration of purpose.
  • Successfully defended broker and broker-dealer against seven-figure claims of unsuitability and fraud. After winning a partial motion to dismiss and defending the clients at the arbitration hearing, the panel awarded less than 6% of claimants’ requested monetary relief.
  • Won complete defense award in AAA arbitration involving seven-figure claims of breaches of fiduciary duty, actual and constructive fraud, negligence, and breach of contract.
  • Won complete defense award in FINRA arbitration involving claims of negligence and breach of contract.
  • Won summary judgment dismissing with prejudice seven-figure claims against a leading provider of drug-delivery technology to the health care industry. The claims included allegations of breach of contract, fraudulent suppression, conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and conversion.
  • Defended and successfully settled nine-figure claims against a leading grain supplier by the creditors of a bankrupt ethanol producer.
  • Defended and successfully arbitrated contract, unjust enrichment and account stated claims for a leading dairy producer.
  • Obtained a consent judgment on unjust enrichment and account stated claims for a leading dairy producer.
  • Won dismissal of seven-figure claims against an electronic toll road business. The claims included contractual, commercial tort, and intellectual property issues.
  • Defended and successfully settled arbitrations regarding broker-dealer and investment advisor proceedings before FINRA.
  • Prosecuted seven-figure claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and breach of contract for a wrongfully terminated partner of a retail energy provider.
  • Won a successful jury verdict on claims of negligence and gross negligence.
  • Won summary judgment on claims of nuisance, promissory estoppel and trespass.
